Hockey was created in Windsor, Nova Scotia Canada, By some Highschoolers messing around out on a pond with brooms, a wooden chip (shaped like todays rubber ice hockey pucks) and two clumps of ice on each end of the pond.
Hockey has grown since then. Evolving into the NHL later on in the 20th century. Since then they have produced amazing hockey players such as Maurice "The Rocket" Richard, Wayn Gretzky, & Todays Sidney Crosby & other talented young players that hit the ice every week during the October through to earlyness of June!
National Hockey League is a Canadian sport! In my books it's tied for 1st in top sports with WWE Professonel Wrestling! (And yes i know it's fake but get over it it's intertainging & Violent thts all i care).
Hockey is a true canadian sport. From starting with the original six (Montreal Cndns, Toronto Mpl Lfs, Boston Brns, NY Rngrs, Detroit Red Wngs, & Chicago Blk Hwlks) To the tremendos 30 (MON, OTT, TOR, BUFF, CAL, EDM, DET, DAL, MIN, COL, CBJ, CAR, TB, ANM, NYR, NYI, Nashville(soon to possibly be hamilton preds in ON!), LA, PIT, PHI, NJ, VAN, PHX, ATL, WAS, BOS, STL, FLA, SJ & CHI).
These teams are what the NHL is today. Hardcore, Hard Hitting, Hard shots, great skill, and a whole lotta' toughness and hart!
